Two-Day Advanced Training:
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy For Common Client Problems
  Friday and Saturday - March 2 & 3, 2018
  12 CEs/PDs
Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) assists clients, suffering from common problems such as anxiety, depression or trauma, in developing a vision of a better future and in directing both clients and therapist toward a deeper awareness of the strengths and resources that clients can use in turning vision into reality. SFBT is the pragmatic application of a set of principles and tools, best described as the direct route to what works. If something works (better), do more of it; if something isn’t working, stop and do something else. SFBT is a competence-based approach, which minimizes emphasis on past failings and problems and instead focuses on clients’ strengths, previous successes and exceptions (times when the problem could have happened but somehow did not). SF questions lie at the heart of SFBT: they invite clients (and therapists) to think differently, to notice positive differences, and to help make desired changes.
The concept and methodology of SFBT differ from traditional (problem-focused) therapies, but may also be combined with them. Conversations become more light-hearted and shorter, ensuring that SFBT is cost-effective and there is less burnout amongst professionals.

This two-day advanced training builds on the highly successful 2017 Introductory Training. It offers theory, (more) SF questions and many new practical tools to help clients to create a new and better life. Own case examples are welcome.

After the training the attendants will be able to:
•   change their focus from what is wrong to what is right with their clients and from what isn’t working to what is working in their lives;
•   help clients to create the best instead of repairing the worst;
•   invite clients to envision and reach their preferred future;
•   use (even more) SF questions;
•   motivate clients to change;
•   use the SF model in other areas, such as supervision, coaching, training and conflict management;
•   combine SFBT with the theory of Positive Psychology.
