Retaking the Exams
If you do not pass either of the exams, you are allowed to retake them. You should receive instructions from NBCC on how to retake the exams via email at the time you receive your results.
Procedure
You must wait 30 days before retaking an exam.
You must get approval from IDFPR (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation).
You must contact continental testing AFTER your original score has been published on their website.
Then you can re-register with NBCC:
You must repay the fees (registration fee is $150).
Log on to your credentialing gateway account.
Select my Open Applications.
Click the Re-register button.
Once you re-register, your application must be reviewed by NBCC. This process can take up to 8 weeks. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be authorized to retake the exam.
You are allowed to retake the exam up to 3 times per NBCC application (which lasts 2 years).
If you need more than three attempts, you must reapply with NBCC.
